The Thruvar product line enables users to:
- Measure the inner diameter, even in situations where it is difficult to approach these inner diameters
- Respect the available space inside the machine tool: The measuring instrument is designed to be suitable for use inside the spindle
- Reduce machine downtime caused by the rapid parts exchange setup system
- Select various solutions based on the large number of available measuring instruments
- Configure applications for each type of requirement and performance level by selecting relevant electronic control units;
- Integrate the inner diameter measurement function into the overall Marposs monitoring system (grinding wheel balance, sound signal, artistic surface control, statistical process monitoring)
The design of Thruvar measuring head aims to be placed inside the spindle of the machine tool and measure the inner diameter in part grinding engineering. Send the signals generated by the measuring instrument to the electronic control unit, which can perform process control (i.e. grinding wheel progress, cutting speed control, etc.) by outputting them to the machine tool
Some models also include pneumatic retraction function, which ensures that the measuring instrument is kept away from the parts and starts and ends the measurement cycle in extremely safe conditions. The functional features of the Thruvar product line are also reflected in Quick setup technology, which can be obtained in both automatic and manual versions. This technology helps reduce setup time after tool reassembly (part replacement) on the machine tool.
From a mechanical and chemical (corrosion) perspective, measuring instruments can be manufactured using very durable materials. The selection of materials depends on years of experience in the marketing department.
advantage editionThe Thruvar product line includes multiple versions based on customer needs.
Picothruvar
Picothruvar is a compact measuring instrument available for measuring inner diameters. To ensure the required performance specifications while maintaining its compact size, this measuring instrument is not equipped with a measuring head retraction function.

Minithruvar 5 – Thruvar 5
The only difference between Minthruvar 5 and Thruvar 5 measuring instruments is their physical dimensions (see picture). Both measuring instruments are equipped with pneumatic retraction and automatic quick setting systems, reducing the cycle time during the installation of new tools (replacement of parts). The Thruvar 5 measuring instrument can also be used to measure groove profiles (keyways).

Thruvar 8
The Thruvar 8 measuring instruments used for inner diameter measurement are made of non-magnetic stainless steel to achieve maximum mechanical and chemical resistance.
These measuring instruments are equipped with embedded start retraction systems and manual quick setting systems to shorten cycle times.

Thruvar 50 – Thruvar 70
The only difference between Thruvar 50 and Thruvar 70 measuring instruments is their physical dimensions (see image). Both measuring instruments are equipped with pneumatic retraction and automatic quick setting systems, reducing the cycle time during the installation of new tools (replacement of parts).
